Subject Leader for Religious Education TLR2b

Required for January 2021

Are you looking for a truly career defining role? Would you like to be part of shaping Religious Education for the next generation?

This is a great opportunity to join our team here at Meols Cop. Meols Cop is an Outstanding Research School that is committed to providing exceptional opportunities to the whole school community.

Religious Education is at an exciting point in its journey at Meols Cop. We are looking for someone who can develop the curriculum offered at KS3, embedding enrichment opportunities and broadening the reach of the subject, as well as developing the offer of Religious Education at KS4.

We are looking for a subject leader who:

  • Is passionate about Religious Education and is innovative in their approach
  • Is able to motivate and inspire students across all ability ranges.
  • Is looking to embed unique opportunities for our students to explore Religious Education.

Our inclusive vision encompasses all in our community, not just our students and we have developed a very special collaborative approach to CPD that new colleagues will be welcomed into so that they quickly become a member of interesting and innovative development groups outside of their subject specialism and department.

Please do find time to look at our website (, performance tables and OFSTED reports to ensure that Meols Cop High School is a school that you feel would be suitable for your professional development. If you do want to visit or ask any questions about the post or the school, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The school is committed to promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment; therefore a satisfactory enhanced DBS is required for this post.

The post is registered as exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Meols Cop High School and Sefton is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

Completed applications should be sent to and marked for the attention of Mrs Paula Nevins, PA to the Leadership Group. Closing Date: 12pm on Monday 28th September 2020. Interviews take place the following week.
